Nightstick Bludgeon Studio Five

Next week expect a dynamite set from Studio Five from Brisbane's insane and brilliant trio Nightstick (featuring Heinz, ex Not From There; Martin, ex Regurgitator; and Tam, from The Standing Eight Counts and Full Fathom Five among others).

As well as Nightstick, Kit and Jay from the Kits will be heading in for a chat and they'll be bringing in some brand new tunes they just laid down - new and exclusive to Tyranny Of Distance!!

Here's more on the fucking 'Stick....

The frantic and frenetic NIGHTSTICK return to Melbourne next weekend for 4 shows!!
Conceived in a Brisbane carpark in early 2003 by former ping-pong adversaries Martin and Heinz. Tam’s presence was demanded because he could play the bass guitar better then all the single-gloved street punks out there. He accepted the challenge on the condition that he use Martin's Fender bass guitar, the one previously owned by Duff McKagan. Martin said yes.
They locked themselves away and began to write a short, fast and gleefully manic set of songs. They liked it that way.
Inspired by the sheer precision of the mechanics who perform in Formula One pit lanes, the band trained themselves to set up their drums, amplifiers and guitars in less than 10 seconds. They claimed the Nightstick title because an old friend said it sounded both sexy and violent.
Nightstick have already cracked Triple J’s playlist, performed at this year’s Big Day Out, and have just released their debut ep on new label DOT DASH.
Nightstick’s urgent, direct and electric music make them one of the most exciting live bands in the country.
